Cost
Traditional Pay

Intake sessions are $60

-
Because counseling effectiveness has a great deal to do with a personal connection with your counselor, intake sessions are offered at half-price. The initial session is your opportunity to discern if your counselor is the best person to help, and an opportunity for your counselor to discern if he/she can help prior to both committing to the counseling process.
Subsequent sessions are $120 p/session

-
Sessions are 1 hour long. Payment is taken at the end of each session.
-
If cost is a prohibitive factor, every-other week sessions (versus weekly sessions) are a first option.
Insurance

-
Insurance pays via reimbursement only. After your second session a receipt of services can be given (by request) which can then be submitted to your insurance company.
-
All sessions are paid out of pocket, one session at a time. Insurance reimbursements would be paid directly to client and would not be received by New Hope.
-
Reimbursement largely depends on whether or not your insurance company has out-of-network benefits.
-
Each client is responsible for submitting receipts to their particular insurance company.
Alternative Pay Options
We desire to make professional counseling affordable for everyone and we believe the following options can help!

Sliding-fee scale

-
Sliding fees will be decided on a case-by-case basis and can be discussed as part of the initial intake session. Typically sliding fee options (after the intake session) include $105p/session, $85p/session or $60p/session.

Church Subsidy

-
If you are a part of a church, we encourage you to approach your church for assistance with counseling fees. Many churches do not have Counselors on staff or Pastors gifted in counseling, but they do eagerly desire their members find healing! A church subsidy may be an option for you.
-
This would require approaching your church leadership and asking for financial assistance in helping receive professional counseling from New Hope. Churches will either pay New Hope directly the full amount, or they will pay partial amount and the client pay the remainder. We have never had a church say “no” to assisting their parishioners with Christian Counseling!

Education Freedom Account

-
New Hope is now a vendor with Education Freedom Account (EFA)! If you are receiving counseling for a child this may be a great option for you!

Scholarships

-
Because of generous donations given to New Hope in 2025, we are now able to offer counseling scholarships for those who cannot afford the minimum $60 sliding fee rate. A scholarship is not free to the client as we believe clients must be giving to the counseling relationship, but it is a minimal cost.

Ministry Discounts

-
For persons in Pastoral or paid Ministry positions in their church, counseling is just $60p/session (half-price). This also applies to immediate family members of those in paid Pastoral Ministry (spouse & dependent children).

Multiple Family Members

-
For situations where 2 or more persons from the same family are receiving counseling at New Hope, the first family member pays full-price ($120p/session); every subsequent family member pays half-price ($60p/session).

Cash, Check, Venmo, PayPal or credit/debit cards accepted.
